Big-time boxing is coming back to Bradford.
Junior Witter will headline a show in his hometown city on Saturday, October 12.
The British and Commonwealth light-welterweight champion will be in action at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre after pleading with promoter Frank Warren to put on a show in his own backyard.
Witter, from Undercliffe, has promised a spectacular night for local fight fans.
He said: "The opponent is expected to be announced next week but it is definitely going to be a big title fight.
"This is the chance that will cement me as Ricky Hatton's main rival. I've been twisting Frank's arm to get a home show and I'm thrilled to bits it's going to be here."
Bradford has not staged a title fight since Frank Grant defended his British belt against John Ashton at St George's Hall in February 1993.
Witter added: "Bradford has been crying out for a big show for years and I intend to make sure this will be a brilliant one. We're aiming to have an undercard full of local fighters so people can see the boxing talent in this area."
Organisers are confident of a 1,200 sell-out for the event which will be shown live on Sky Sports.
