The boss of Bradford & Bingley has made it clear that the business is not for sale.
Following months of speculation Christopher Rodrigues, chief executive, said: "We are not seeking to sell the business. We are happy with where we are."
Rumours had been rife that Barclays has been looking to acquire the mortgage lender.
A spokeswoman for the firm, which recently announced it was to move its headquarters from Crossflats to London, added: "We are comfortable moving the business along and growing it in line with our strategies."
