A 76-year-old woman died from a blood clot in her lungs after an operation, an inquest heard.
Joan Emmott, of Fairfield Court, Liversedge, was admitted to Dewsbury District Hospital last May, and underwent surgery to remove a tumour.
Bradford Coroner's Court heard how the operation was carried out satisfactorily.
She was discharged two weeks later but taken back to the hospital the following evening, suffering from a shortness of breath.
Attempts were made to resuscitate her, but she died.
A post mortem examination showed the cause of her death was a blood clot due to deep vain thrombosis.
Coroner Roger Whittaker said he believed the operation was "perfectly performed".
He recorded a verdict of misadventure, but said that did not imply he was criticising the operation.
