A video commemorating the life of a Wilsden storyteller is to raise money for a cancer hospice.
Peter Fawcett, who died aged 78 of cancer in March last year, was renowned for his entertaining tales and anecdotes which were accompanied by slides depicting Wilsden's history.
Now his extensive photograph collection, which was passed down from his father Reg, has been used by resident Jane Callaghan to bring the village's past to life.
"I went to one of his slide shows and found it fascinating," said Mrs Callaghan.
"After his death I contacted people in the village who had some of his slides and thought it would be wonderful to put them together in memory of him in a format which everyone could enjoy.
"He was such a lovely man and all the children loved him as he considered everything they said with equal weight."
A former teacher at Daisy Hill School, Mr Fawcett was a governor at Wilsden Primary School and ran the Sunday School at Wilsden Methodist and United Reformed Church.
Proceeds from the £10 video will go towards Manorlands cancer hospice in Oxenhope, where he was cared for.
It features a tour of the village, starting at Swain Royd and along Main Street to the Malt Shovel pub and on to Hewenden Beck, Bents Lane and finishing at Harecroft and Laneside.
The narrator is Wilsden's Liz Ambler, a former Daisy Hill School pupil and former BBC Radio Leeds presenter.
"He never taught me at school but everyone knew who he was and it was an honour to help," she said.
"It was interesting to see how much the village has changed and there are certain aspects I still remember as a child, such as the smithy where I would go with my grandfather to watch horses being shoed."
Wilsden village society member, Norman Barwick, said he saw one of the first copies of the film and was impressed.
"It's very informative and it's a fitting tribute to Mr Fawcett," he said.
Earlier this year author Astrid Hansen wrote a history of the village inspired by Mr Fawcett.
The video, put together by Arrow Video in Eldwick, can be bought through members of the Methodist and United Reformed Church or by mail order from: A Wander Around Wilsden, Brookside, 52 Harden Lane, Wilsden, BD15 OEU. A further £1.50 will be charged for post and packaging.
