A WEST Craven teenager has been accused of committing a second rape just hours after he was given conditional bail on an earlier rape charge.
Daniel Brown, 18, is one of two men charged with raping 14-year-old schoolgirls in Barnoldswick's Letcliffe Park last week.
Now he stands accused of a second rape in the early hours of Sunday, less than 24 hours after he was released on bail.
Brown, of Holme Close, Sough, was initially arrested after two 14-year-old girls told police they had been raped in the park on the evening of Tuesday August 13.
He and 20-year-old Sean Ledger, of Conway Crescent, Barnoldswick, were charged with that rape offence on Friday. Both men are also accused of stealing a mobile phone.
They appeared before Burnley magistrates on Saturday and were released on conditional bail.
But Brown is now accused of committing a second rape just hours later, in the early hours of Sunday, August 18.
He was arrested, questioned and later charged with the second rape offence, before being remanded in custody. He is due to appear again before magistrates next Tuesday, August 27.
Meanwhile, Ledger remains on bail with conditions that he must live at a specified address outside the area, must not enter Barnoldswick, must observe a 9pm to 7am curfew and must not contact the aggrieved in any way.
