BATTLING Burley are making a determined bid to avoid relegation from Division A.
They followed up their four-wicket win over North Leeds by recording a stunning nine-wicket win over second-placed Steeton.
Richard Harrison bowled superbly for Burley and took five for 27 as Silsden were dismissed for 112.
His good work was capitalised on by David Brook (58) and Ian Frost (38no) as Burley secured their second successive win with 18 overs to spare.
They now have 49 points and barring a major mishap, look to have secured their future in the top flight.
The same cannot be said of Waddilove Cup winners Guiseley. Their skipper Steve Thompson warned last week of the need for them to knuckle down in the league but his words went unheeded as they were beaten by fellow strugglers Menston.
The nine-wicket success for Menston lifts them off the bottom of the table and they now have 37 points, just two less than under-performing Guiseley.
With Rawdon on 34 points the battle for the two relegation spots is certainly hotting up. And rawdon entertain Menston this Saturday in a crucial match.
Guiseley's batting failed to fire once again as they were restricted to 160 for nine despite a determined innings of 42 from young Chris Thompson.
Menston had little trouble easing to their victory target. They lost just one wicket in the process with Gary Thompson (75) and David Lester (61 not out) leading the way.
Rawdon clung on for a one-point draw against Green Lane after their opponents ran up an impressive score of 296 for seven. Barry McCormick (84), Sim Curry (77) and Gary Williams (70).
Rawdon laboured to 155 for six in reply with John Davey making the top score of 51.
Adel are 17 points clear at the top and in touching distance of the league title.
They continued their impressive form with a comfortable five-wicket success over a North Leeds side who have faded badly in recent weeks.
North leeds were dismissed for 170, a total which didn't seriousl stretch Adel as they eased to their tenth win of the season.
Follifoot are now second after their four-wicket win over Collingham and champions Bilton have also leap-frogged Steeton to take third place.
They dismissed Beckwithshaw for just 95 to secure a 98-run triumph.
