A Bradford karate club owner has clinched his 50th gold medal in the World Martial Arts Open Championships in Birmingham.
Nisar Smiler, 38, has been involved in karate since he was just three-years-old and in that time has twice been World Champion, four times British Champion and four times European title holder.
Nisar devotes much of his time to teaching karate at the Karmand Centre on Barkerend Road, Bradford, as well as at clubs throughout West Yorkshire.
Nisar said: "I was over the moon to receive my 50th gold medal. I train hard, up to five nights a week, and have no plans to stop competing in the near future."
A talent for karate runs in the family. His two son's Nadir, 16, and Amir, 15, are both in the British Karate Junior Team and his daughter, Maryam Nisar, ten, has already clocked up 12 gold medals. Nisar's wife, Zakia, is also a black belt in karate.
Nisar will be travelling to Thailand later this month for his sixth Dan.
