A little boy battling leukaemia hopes to get his best birthday present ever - a bone marrow donor.
Billy Broxup celebrates his fifth birthday on Sunday.
His family, who have helped to organise a bone marrow donor clinic on the following day are praying that a suitable donor can soon be found.
Billy, of Buttershaw, Bradford, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia shortly after his fourth birthday.
A year later, he is fighting an infection in St James's Hospital, Leeds, after coping with the latest round of exhausting chemotherapy and his family hope that he will be home in time for a birthday party.
If he is well enough, he will be the guest of honour at the bone marrow clinic on Bank Holiday Monday.
His aunt Victoria Broxup, 24, of Horton Bank Top, said: "Billy's temperature is high due an infection because his immune system is low at the moment. We are keeping our fingers crossed he will be well enough to leave hospital at the weekend."
The clinic has been organised by Zoe Waterworth, a niece of Emma Kaminski, 30, who is also fighting leukaemia.
She said: "Billy is desperate for a bone marrow transplant now.
"It takes half an hour to fill in a form and give just 8ml of blood. Please come along if you can."
Helpers and medics will be at the clinic in Hunsworth Community Centre on Monday from 1pm until 5pm.
Anybody else who can help out at the clinic or take blood samples is asked to ring Zoe on 07904 585663.
Victoria Broxup also hopes to arrange a clinic in Buttershaw soon.
