CRAIG HORNE has left the Cougars for Doncaster Dragons - and is expected to line up against his old club on Sunday.

The classy player (above), who has been out of action with injuries for a large part of the season, told the club he wanted to leave, and was set to join the Dragons.

"I am very disappointed with his decision but at the end of the day I only want players in the squad who want to play for the Cougars," said coach Gary Moorby.

"Craig is 24 years old, and under the Bosman ruling he could walk away from the club when his contract expires in three weeks. I have been able to negotiate a small amount of compensation from Doncaster and I think in the long term that will be the best thing for the club.

"The money will be used to sign some of our Academy players on professional contracts," he added.

James Rushforth is still on honeymoon and will miss the game, but Karl Smith will return after a rib injury, Chris Wainwright will be back from holiday, Adam Mitchell could make the squad and Andy Robinson will also be back in contention.

The Independent Supporters' Club is running a coach to the Doncaster game. It will leave the Victoria Hotel on Cavendish Street at 12.30 and return at about 7.30pm. The cost is expected to be £7.50.
