As one of Bradford's main shopping centres, Darley Street would be the wrong place for a building society office, however attractive. That is the view of the Department of the Environment Inspector at a public inquiry into an appeal by the Provincial Building Society, Bradford, against the refusal of planning permission to use shop premises at the corner of Darley Street and Duke Street, as a branch office.

Thrills from The Raspinis delighted the child patients at the Middleton Sanatorium today when artists from the Bertram Mills Circus paid them a visit. The red-nosed clowns and augustes were there in all their spangled finery. There was the band playing with typical "big top" vigour, and there was a resplendent ringmaster to introduce the acts.
