AN Otley primary school is to reopen temporarily - two months after it was closed for good.
Thomas Chippendale Prim-ary School, which this year would have celebrated its 50th anniversary, will reopen on Monday for two weeks while work is finished on the enlarged Ashfield Primary School.
Some of the pupils destined for the Weston Lane school will be taught at Thomas Chippendale, in Weston Ridge, until the work is finished.
Meanwhile, Leeds City Council is confident that classroom extensions at the renamed All Saints Primary School, Lisker Drive, and Westgate Primary, in Scarb-orough Road, will be both finished in time for Monday's first day of term.
A spokeswoman for Leeds City Council said: "Some of the older pupils from Ashfield Primary School will be taught at Thomas Chippendale School for two weeks until September 13 until work at their school is completed. This move was agreed with teachers and parents before the end of term.
"To the best of our knowledge, the schemes at Westgate Primary and All Saints Primary schools are proceeding according to the agreed timetables. We expect the pupils to start back at these schools next week."
l Originally estimated at £750,000, the project includes extensions and remodelling of Ashfield Primary; internal remodelling and playground reinstatement at Westgate; and new classrooms at All Saints Primary.
