Paul Sykes knows exactly how much the Bulls will be hurting from their losing slump.

The London Broncos full back returns to Valley Parade tomorrow for the first time since making the switch down south. And he is well aware of the tough reception in store.

His old team-mates are licking their wounds from back-to-back losses which have cost the Bulls top spot to St Helens.

And Sykes fears that could spell bad news for the play-off chasing visitors.

He said: "For the Bulls to lose two games in a row is unheard of. I'm shocked about it myself so I can imagine what the lads there must be thinking.

"It could be a really bad time to play them because they will be on the rebound after the Saints and Cas defeats. They will come out really fired up.

"People have been knocking Bradford a bit so they'll go out all guns blazing to show how good they are.

"But we can't afford to be intimidated. We've got to stand our ground and stick to the game-plan and then I think we've got a chance.

"London's record isn't very good at Valley Parade but we've been playing well in the last couple of weeks. We narrowly lost out to Wigan and if we can be on top of our game then I don't see why we can't get a result."

Sykes, who played nine games on loan with the Broncos last season, has made a further 12 appearances since signing a two-year deal. The 21-year-old admitted he had to leave Bradford to get a starting place.

He said: "It was pretty hard going down to London but I have to think of myself. I wasn't going to get first-team rugby at Bradford unless Mike Withers was injured.

"In a squad like that your chances are going to be very limited and I think a few of the other young lads have found that out as well.

"It's funny being in London because it's all football down here. You don't get people stopping you in the street and asking for an autograph."

Sykes will certainly be recognised by the Bulls forwards and is guaranteed a few "welcome home" hits.

"I'm sure I will be put under a bit of pressure. No doubt there will be some banter flying around but that's all part of it.

"We've got a tough run-in to the season and we're playing all the teams above us. But while it's going to be hard, at least reaching the play-offs is in our own hands."
