A mugging victim pleaded for mercy when two knife-wielding robbers attacked him in a Bradford park, a Court heard.
Mohammed Amin was jailed for four years after he admitted robbing Terry Kent-Gayton in Lister Park at 11.30pm on June 13 last year.
Leeds Crown Court yesterday heard how Amin, 23, and Jabber Gafoor, of Mansfield Road, Manningham, who was sentenced earlier this month to three years and nine months for the crime, punched and kicked Mr Kent-Gayton to the ground before stealing his watch and wallet.
Sentencing Amin, Judge Kerry MacGill said other offenders in Bradford should take this as a warning.
"We have seen a great deal of robberies going on and it has to go out in a very loud message to both sides of the community that they will get very little sympathy from the courts," he said.
John Harrison, prosecuting, told how the pair threatened Mr Kent-Gayton with a knife.
"Mr Kent-Gayton said he had never been more scared in his life and asked the men not to harm him.
"He said: 'I thought I was a gonner'," said Mr Harrison.
The victim suffered facial injuries and was rescued by two passers-by after calling for help.
In mitigation Heather Humpage said Amin, of North Park Terrace, Manningham, had a deficiency in social skills and was hard of hearing.
She said he was experiencing family problems and drinking heavily at the time of the attack.
"He has always worked to provide for his family and, with another child on the way, a long prison sentence will adversely affect his family," she added.
Amin also pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and possessing an offensive weapon.
The court heard how Amin was driving along Manningham Lane and shot a red light before crashing into a Volkswagen Polo at the junction of Queen's Road on January 7 this year.
The four occupants of the car suffered minor injuries and three were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
For these offences Judge Kerry MacGill gave him a total of nine months.
"Lessons have to be learned and being partially deaf does not excuse your criminal activity," he said.
"I hope you will learn from this and face up to your family responsibilities."
