Bradford go all out for the double this Sunday when they play in golf's Inter-District team Championships at Cleveland.
The big guns have been brought out for the day with West Bradford's Darryl Berry, on plus two, leading an impressive line-up.
He joins Richard Wheatley (Bingley St Ives, +1), Gareth Evans (Northcliffe, scratch), Neil Harker-Bell (Bradford Moor, scratch), Ian Martin (Hollins Hall, 1) and Matthew Roache (Baildon, 2).
The team will play off scratch and all scores count over 36 holes.
Bradford will be hoping to emulate this week's fabulous effort at Northcliffe against Sheffield when the side won the Inter-Union League for the first time since 1996 - thanks to 46-year-old postman Martin Bell holding his nerve on the final green in the final match.
Now, with the champagne corks already popping, Bradford union secretary, Brian Newiss, believes Bradford can win the double. "It will be difficult on Sunday because the opposition is so strong, but we have a good team. I think we can do it.
"They were all heroes against Sheffield. Martin Bell was under a lot of pressure. We had a few players missing and it was his first match of the season. It says a lot for his character."
It also says a lot for Bradford's strength in depth. They have a pool of about 20 quality players to choose from.
At Northcliffe, the crowds turned out in force to cheer the team on in the must-win situation. It started so well in the foursomes when they surged to an 8-4 lead.
But then fortunes changed and with the match tied at 17-17, the pressure was all on Bell - on his home course.
He was three-up against Andy Halifax with four holes to play. Then the drama heightened with Halifax pulling the three shots back to level at the 17th hole.
A half on the last hole would be enough to give Bradford the title, but Bell, who found the front of the green at the short 18th, thought he had to win the hole. Halifax found himself on the left fringe with a tricky shot down the slope on the narrow green.
He almost holed his chip but the ball ran on and he ended with a four.
Bell held his nerve to secure his par three - and the celebrations could begin.
Bradford's path to glory has not been for the faint-hearted with four of the season's wins being by the narrowest of margins.
After his heart-stopping round, Bell said: "I had no nerves at all. I have a lot of experience and I knew what was going on.
"Everybody started to gather round and watch.
"When it was all square on the 18th tee it was in the lap of the gods. On the last hole at Northcliffe, anything can happen - there's trouble everywhere. And the pin is in the worst position on the green.
"The team have been great all season and all the players should take the glory.
"My match happened to be the last one but I must say I was popular in the clubhouse later."
