He started it in the Northern Ford Premiership but could end it in Polynesia - Richard Moore is having the season of his life.
And not even the return of Paul Anderson from his broken arm can keep the youngster down.
The Bulls prop, who is to Anderson what Mini Me is to Dr Evil, performed admirably standing in for the injured senior pro and is determined to keep fighting for his place.
The year began with loan spells at both the Keighley Cougars and the London Broncos, but Anderson's injury brought the 20-year-old back from the rugby wilderness.
His powerful performances earned rave reviews as he more than held his own at the top level of domestic rugby.
Not only was he fulfilling "a dream come true", Moore also played himself into the 29-man Emerging Squad that is set to take on the Kiwi tourists before heading to the South Seas.
Although Anderson's return has pushed Moore out of his club side there will be no more trips out on loan.
He is going to stay and fight for his place and coach Brian Noble is happy to tell anyone who will listen that Moore "is an important part of the plans for next year".
"Obviously it is disappointing to be out of the side," said Moore, released by Friday's opponents Leeds earlier in his career.
"But I am going to stay and fight for my place. There are still a few games left this year and I hope to try and get an appearance in the play-offs or maybe even in the Grand Final.
"It has been amazing season for me this year. I have been concentrating on my game and have tried to improve all the time.
"It is fantastic to be playing with the world champions and I hope to get some more matches in this year and then try and keep my place in the side next year."
The odd play-off appearance would do Moore no harm as he tries to convince selectors he is worthy of an international jersey.
He is the only Bull to be selected in the 29-man training squad for Emerging England, but only 20 will make the tour party which will play four matches on the other side of the world.
But even if Moore does make the trip, he will still face one problem. "I am very nervous about flying," added Moore.
"It is not something I enjoy but it would be worth putting up with for an opportunity of a lifetime."
