Bradford Park Avenue 0, Hucknall Town 3: Lapses in concentration, schoolboy errors and indiscipline left Avenue on the wrong end of a 3-0 drubbing last night.

The disjointed home side were out-scored, although not necessarily out-played, by an unbeaten Hucknall Town side.

Avenue had one man sent-off and another three booked in a second-half collapse that flattered the experienced visitors.

"It is disappointing to lose 3-0 in a game like that," said boss Trevor Storton after his side's third defeat.

"There was some bad luck and some silly mistakes from us and I don't think the officials helped things.

"I think we had the best of it in the first half, but they bossed it a bit more after the break." The first half saw both Rory Prendergast and Andy Quinn swing in many crosses, but with the powerful Jason Maxwell missing through injury, the majority passed through the area without a hint of danger.

Ten minutes after the break, the visitors grabbed the opening after a defensive lapse by Matt Daly.

Steve Lenagh put in a tantalising cross which Mark Nangle nodded home with a downwards header from five yards.

A giant throw from James Stansfield created an opening for Hayward 14 minutes later, but from three yards out he could only bang the ball against the bar after a rare flap by keeper Ryan Young.

Just five minutes later Avenue's hopes of a comeback were dashed when the visitors grabbed a controversial second. Former Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield midfielder Phil Starbuck knocked a ball over the top and Nangle beat the offside trap to race through clear.

Avenue stopper Ross Turner hesitantly remained on his line to give Nangle the chance to collect the ball and bang it home just inside the near post from five yards.

Daly, who appeared to have played the nippy forward on-side, angrily protested to the assistant referee but to no avail.

But two minutes later the linesman had had enough and the referee dismissed the lanky defender for the use of foul and abusive language.

Two minutes into injury time, Scott Huckerby, brother of Manchester City's Darren, flicked the ball past Turner to round off the scoring.
