A teenager from Guiseley hit all the right notes when he took his music GCSE this year.
But not only did fourteen year old Adam Csenki take the exam two years early, he also got one of the top five marks in the country.
In a letter from the Assessment Qualifications Alliance, Director General Kathleen Tattersall wrote: "I am pleased to tell you that you scored one of the top five marks in Music out of 9229 candidates who sat the examination this summer.
"May I congratulate you on such an outstanding achievement and wish you every success with your future studies."
Adam started to play the piano at the age of six, and now plays the violin, viola and
organ as well, and is grade 8 in both the
piano and violin.
He said: "I've always liked music and dad likes music. I thought it would be fun, and learned the violin through school and really enjoyed it.
"I was quite nervous but everyone was being encouraging. I'm very surprised I got it, and hopefully I'll be able to do as well at my A-levels."
Adam, who had to compose a piece of music for the piano, and for a Baroque string orchestra as part of his GCSE, wants to take music at A-level. He said: "I definitely want to play in an orchestra and do more chamber music, and I also compose so I'd like to carry it on."
