NURSERY children have been celebrating their green-fingered skills after competing to grow the tallest sunflower.
Youngsters at Esscroft Private Nursery, Burley-in-Wharfedale, have grown their own sunflowers from seeds, in a competition to raise money for Water Aid.
The nursery raised a total of more than £250. Competition winner was Jack Eastwood, four, whose sunflower grew more than two metres high. The children also made giant paper sunflowers at the nursery.
