Harlow Hill 2
Addingham travelled to Harrogate for this Division One clash with their weakest squad for many years. Smithson, T Marriot, Galasso, Kernick and Barrow were all absent for various reasons and there combined absence was all too evident.
Addingham started brightly but after ten minutes it was Harlow who totally dominate.
With no natural striker available Si Collins ploughed a lone furrow up front but to little availe. Mills Wells, A Collins and Dobson defended superbly but the sheer volume of attacks soon became too much as Harlow took the lead after half an hour.
The first-half continued in a similar vein and at the break Addingham were glad to be just one down.
In the second-half Addingham brought on Jez Parker and pulled Collins back to midfield. The change helped the visitors and it was now Harlow who were forced to defend. Jon Cummings had a shot clip the post and Perkins and Kenedy were now causing a threat from the flanks.
Addingham's attacks were more sporadic than sustained but they were putting up a fight that had been missing in the first- half.
Perkins missed a great chance when he shot straight at the 'keeper from ten yards when clean through. In the final five minutes Collins got clean through one-on-one but again the finish was poor and the 'keeper saved well.
Harlow hit a second in the dying minutes and in truth no one involved at Addingham can complain too loudly at the score.
Had Barrow been available Addingham would have had a better outlet and no doubt created more but Harlow thoroughly deserved the win.
Addingham look forward to the cricket season finishing with relish!
