A Keighley man has been crowned British champion at one of Europe's biggest model aircraft events.
Peter Harvey, of Haworth, scooped top honours, winning the trophy in the Sport 40 pylon racing event at the British Model Flying Association's National Championships over the bank holiday weekend.
Peter, 32, travelled to RAF Barkston Heath, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, to compete in the event with his 200mph ATS-Mayneline Bullet.
He said: "I'm chuffed to bits. I have never flown like that before in my life.
"This is like the FA Cup of plane racing. I was hoping to qualify for the final but I was definitely not expecting to win."
Pylon racing involves four aircraft in each race, which fly ten laps around a quarter mile triangular course around 40 feet from the ground.
