A crackdown has been launched on children playing near railway lines.
And Keighley parents are being asked to do their bit to help stamp out the problem.
Arriva Trains Northern -- which operates services on the Airedale line -- said many children failed to appreciate the dangers of playing by the tracks.
Several initiatives have been organised, in conjunction with British Transport Police and Railtrack, to tackle the issue.
Leaflets are being distributed and police officers are travelling on trains to look out for offenders.
Ray Price, for Arriva, said: "Some children may think it is exciting to fool around near railway lines, but the reality is that it is very dangerous.
"By getting more parents to help us remind youngsters about the hazards of trespassing, we can encourage children to play safe and not put themselves in a position where they could be hurt or even killed."
His comments are echoed by Danny Snee, of British Transport Police.
He said: "We ask all parents to ensure their young children stay off the lines.
"To those old enough to recognise the dangers, keep away from the tracks and do not put yourselves at risk.
"Anyone ignoring the warnings and committing offences will face prosecution."
