A father and son team from Keighley have struck gold at a national fish show.

Allan and Christopher White, of Litton Road, off Fell Lane, were over the moon when their sunfish scooped both the champion of champions and the fish of fishes trophies at the countrywide championships recently.

And on Sunday the pair, who are known as the Alden Aquarist Show Team, are to stage their own show at Oakbank School, Keighley.

The event is to be the fifth open show that they have organised, and participants from as far afield as Scotland and Wales are set to compete in 45 different classes.

Allan, 43, said: "There will be many fish on display from goldfish right though to catfish.

There will also be a lot of exotic fish there that you do not see in the shops."

Among other aquatic attractions there will also be an auction of tropical fish, coldwater fish, equipment and plants and a raffle with a first prize of a Jewel aquarium and full set of equipment.

The money raised in the raffle will go to Manorlands, where Allan's wife Debra, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, has spent time.
