Three workshops, to be held in Dewsbury, Mirfield and Huddersfield, are being planned to help drug users, parents, carers and professionals deal with an overdose.
Helena Walker, assistant co-ordinator of Kirklees Drug Action Team, said: "Two of the workshops are specifically for users and their friends. The third is for carers, parents and professionals.
"It is so important that people attend because we are teaching things like resuscitation and what to do in an emergency. It could literally mean the difference between life and death."
The first workshop will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 27 in Outlook, 32 Westgate, Huddersfield, followed by another for users and their friends at 2pm on Monday, September 30 in the New Horizon Church, Swindon Road, Dewsbury.
Parents, carers and professionals are invited to a third workshop at 7pm on the same night in Northorpe Hall, Mirfield.
Professionals wishing to attend are advised to confirm a place by telephoning DAT on (01484) 414934.
