Leeds Rhinos 18 Bulls 20: The spotlight was definitely on Barrie McDermott and Stuart Fielden before their latest Bradford Bulls versus Leeds Rhinos derby at Headingley last night.

But that became an insignificance as the Bulls won a thriller 20-18 with a try by Leon Pryce in the next-to-last minute.

And Bulls prop Fielden feels that Pryce very much got him off the hook.

"I am just mightily relieved," said the prop, who isn't 23 until next Saturday.

"Any rugby player will tell you that there is nothing worse when you are having a bad game - and I had dropped a couple of balls - and the big shepherd's hook comes out and gets you by the neck, and it did.

"I came off feeling really down and we were behind, but we might have been in front if I hadn't dropped the ball. In the last seconds of the match I had almost given up hope of a comeback, then Leon has done a 'Robin Hood' on me and released me.

"I am extremely disappointed with my own performance, but delighted that my team-mates have dug me out of a hole."

The Bulls were trailing 16-6 at half-time, and Fielden admitted: "We knew we should have been closer to them.

"But we also knew that a score would put us back in it and we could go on and win it.

"And luckily we started to put together some of the rugby we will need in the play-offs."

The Bulls are now level again with St Helens at the top of the table, although Saints still lead on points difference.

"It cements us a bit more in second place, but we don't want to go any lower," admitted Fielden.

Wigan are the dangers in third, but they are at home to St Helens tomorrow.

Great Britain international Fielden added: "It will be good to watch that match and enjoy it with a lemonade in my hand, and not being under too much pressure ourselves."
