Troubled New Plan Furniture has laid off more than half its workforce, its receivers confirmed today.
A total of 102 out of 202 workers have lost their jobs but the office furniture company, in Bowling Back Lane, Bradford, is continuing to trade while a buyer is sought.
Joint administrative receivers, Geoffrey Martin and John Twizell, of Geoffrey Martin & Co, were called in last week to save the firm which has blamed cheap imports for its difficulties.
Today New Plan's directors said in a statement: "Together with the receivers, we have implemented a plan that allows us to continue trading and safeguard our future in the short term.
"The response of the workforce to the changes has been tremendous."
