There has been an increase in the number of farmers returning to the sheep market after the foot and mouth crisis, according to the general man-ager of Craven Cattle Marts.
Jeremy Eaton was speaking after the first cattle mart's Christmas show since the crisis ended attracted more than 2,000 sheep entries.
Mr Eaton said: "We are very happy with the way sheep sales have gone in recent months.
"We are receiving excellent support from the larger sheep processors."
Overall champion of the show held at Skipton Auction Mart was John Rushton, of Elslack, near Skipton, with a pen of ten Texel lambs.
