A business scheme aimed at bringing employment opportunities to Bradford today boasted creating 120 new jobs in Allerton.
The new jobs will be based at the £6 million Willow Bank Care Village which will provide homes for 100 people on Bell Dean Road.
The Invest in Bradford partnership has joined forces with care home developers, Keighley-based Victorguard Ltd, to create the jobs.
Invest in Bradford is made up of Council's regeneration and business partnerships department, Jobcentre Plus, Keighley Business Partnership and Bradford Chamber of Commerce.
Councillor Simon Cooke, the Council's executive member for corporate and regeneration, said: "Invest in Bradford is working closely with the community of Allerton to create local training and employment opportunities.
"It gives everyone involved in the development of the project a chance to reap the benefits of this innovative idea.
The care home is expected to open in March next year and is already 50 per cent let.
Patrick Wiggins, the Council's director of regeneration, added: "Invest in Bradford is committed to maximising the employment spin-off of local developments such as this one.''
Training firm H&S Consultancy, which is based in Little Germany, has been given the task of training recruits for the development.
