ALBERT HOTEL secured their first Alliance League victory since a group of young players got together to form the team.
They beat Long Lee Victoria 2-1 after all the Albert players seemed to find their true form at the same time. Richard Borfay scored the only goal of the first half, Victoria equalised, but Borfay scored a second to secure the win.
Chris Hardy was Albert's man of the match.
The New Variety Club played out a 3-3 draw with BCA United in a classic contest. United opened the scoring only for the Variety Club to have drawn level by the interval. They raced into a 3-1 lead, but BCA refused to accept defeat and drew level just before the final whistle.
Adam Ackroyd scored twice for the Variety Club with Brian Hutchinson adding the third. BCA's scorers were Abdul Wasdud, Motiur Rahnun and Ambrar Yamam.
Keighley United played host to Silsden Athletic and continued their winning run with a 9-0 victory. They scored four in the first half, and increased the tempo, hammering in five after the break even though United came more into the game.n Andy Feather scored a hat-trick, Sean Lockley added two and there were further goals from Harry Robinson, Ryan McClennan and Muzir Majir.
Shoulder of Mutton pulled off a 4-3 victory over Fleece with the winner coming five minutes from time when the Fleece keeper failed to hold a free kick. The game was played in very heavy conditions and Fleece got off to a cracking start when midfielder Allan Shayman received the ball in his own half and eluded the home defenders before slamming home an unstoppable shot in the first minute. However the lead was short-lived as Shoulder soon equalised. Fleece took the lead again only for Shoulder to draw level just before half time.
Both teams charged into the attack after the break and Shoulder regained the lead only for the previous week's goalkeeper, Phil Poole, now playing centre forward, scored his second to put Fleece back on terms. They missed several chances to win the game before Shoulder's free kick snatched victory from their grasp.
Scorers for Shoulder were Chris Brookes (2), Graham Whittaker and Dale Evans. Paul Hart, back after an injury, was man of the match for Fleece, and goals were scored by Phil Poole (2) and Allan Shayman.
Cavendish Hotel played host to Bingley Town and found their opponents far too experienced. Town were 5-0 up by half time but took their foot off the gas, scoring three times while Cavendish also found the net twice to give Bingley an 8-2 victory. Andy Nelson scored a hat-trick for Bingley, with other goals from Gavan Hammond (2), Stuart Hinds and an own goal.
Sun-Oaklee were 4-0 down to Three Horses at the interval, but fought their way back with two goals in the second period. Three horses added a fifth to secure their 5-2 win, their scorers were Jamie Rowell (2), Tim Godden, Karl Brown, and Chris Peter Smith. Sun scorers were Lee Blacka and an own goal.
Bocking were far too strong for Wilsden Villagers, scoring three while Wilsden hit the back of the net once in a comparatively even first half. In the second half Bocking piled on the pressure, scoring five without reply, scorers were Darren Midgley (3), man of the match David Nelson (2), D Alderson, S Bainbridge and Garry Binns.
There will be restricted league fixtures this weekend due to the District Cup competition. Games will be arranged where possible but currently the only fixture is Fleece (Cullingworth) v Wilsden Villagers, to be played at Harden.
