Bradford Park Avenue's star player Rory Prendergast has moved to fierce rivals Accrington Stanley in a shock move.
The winger, who only joined the UniBond League side at the beginning of the season, was transferred to the Lancashire club for £7,500 and appeared in the side's defeat at Hucknall Town on Saturday.
The 23-year-old winger scored ten goals for Avenue since replacing winger Dean Calcutt, who moved to Stanley in pre-season, picking up consecutive player of the month trophies.
The temperamental player has made 24 Football League appearances for York City and Barnsley and is hoping to return to professional football with the ambitious Crown Ground side.
Prendergast's fee, to rise to £10,000 if Stanley are promoted, may be used to bring in at least two new players to the club.
"I am delighted with the move," said Prendergast. "The time was right for me to go but I want to say a big thank you to everyone at the club."
