A group of Baildon youngsters are celebrating after receiving a £200 donation to put towards a trial bike course.
The Pace Micro Technology Charities Committee awarded the sum to the project.
The youngsters, who started off their campaign with a petition for somewhere to practise their skills, have also raised funds from a variety of sources including a sponsored litter-pick in Baildon.
Around £9,000 has now been raised for the project which will cost about £10,000.
It is hoped the remaining amount of money needed will soon be raised and that, subject to planning approval, work can start on the construction of the site in spring.
Bradford Council officers have designated a piece of land for the course at the bottom of the Ian Clough Hall car park, and are to carry out the design and maintenance work.
Councillor John Cole (Lib Dem, Baildon) said: "It is really good news that Pace has offered support to the young trial bikers of Baildon. These young people have behaved very responsibly in bringing their aspirations and concerns to neighbourhood forum meetings in the village so that a way forward could be found that met the interests of all sections of the community.
"The youngsters have also shown that they are prepared to roll up their sleeves and raise some of the funds themselves."
