The North Bradford Basketball Development Centre has been working with Baildon Recreation Centre to develop a new basketball opportunity in north Bradford.
Following on from the success of a recent course for boys and girls aged eight to 14, held at the Baildon Centre, the organisers are developing the course further in 2003 and are looking to attract more young people to come along to either try out the game of basketball or develop their skills further.
The course restarts on
Wednesday, January 8, at Baildon Recreation Centre, Green Lane,
lower Baildon. Directions to the centre can be obtained on Bradford 599245.
To develop the course and to bring more young people into basketball, the Development Centre are extending the course into two sessions as follows.
5pm to 6pm - boys and girls at primary school, ages 7 to 11 (Years 3,4,5 & 6)
6pm to 7pm boys and girls at secondary school, ages 11 to 15 (Years 7,8,9,10)
Each session will cost £2.
The Centre hopes that all existing players will come back in January and that schools in the surrounding area will encourage players from their school to attend to either try out basketball or to improve their skills.
An EBBA qualified coach will supervise both sessions and it is hoped that teams can be organised from the course to play in basketball events.
