A LIFEGUARD from Skipton swam 24 miles in 15 hours to raise money for charity.
Karen Driver, 31, head lifeguard at Aireville Pool, completed the challenge on Friday, starting at 7.30am and finishing at 10.30pm.
Her effort marked the launch of the second Chairman of Craven District Council's Charity Swim.
Anyone who wants to take part can opt to swim six, 12 or 24 miles over the next three months, with proceeds going to the Skipton Dialysis Unit.
Organisers are hoping to more than double the £2,000 raised last year. Further information can be obtained by calling 01756 792805.
