Police believe another child caused the injuries which left a four-week-old baby girl with a broken leg, fractured skull and bruising while in hospital.
In a statement yesterday they said they would be taking no action over the "unusual and unfortunate accident" which left little Humara Ali seriously injured.
They said there were "no suspicious circumstances" and it appeared that Humara had been injured by a child who was staying in the hospital at the same time.
The tot had to have a cast put on the broken right leg and is now recovering from a fractured skull at her terraced home in Craven Road, Keighley.
She had been admitted to Airedale General Hospital at Steeton, near Keighley, on December 19 suffering a cold and breathing problems.
The next day police arrived at the family home to tell Mumtaz Ali and his wife Noreen that their daughter had been involved in an 'incident' and was injured.
She had a broken leg and a head injury, believed to be a fracture, and she was bruised.
In a statement, police said: "Police received a report of a young baby having sustained injuries whilst being a patient at Airedale Hospital in Keigh-ley.
"The injuries were potentially serious and so inquiries were undertaken by specialist officers from the force's child-protection unit which is usual procedure in such circumstances.
"Having conducted an investigation, we are satisfied that the baby did not sustain these injuries through any criminal act.
"It would appear that the injuries resulted from an unusual and unfortunate accident involving another young child who was also a patient in the hospital at the time."
