Lottery millionaires David and Margaret Storey will be celebrating the new year with their usual - a pint of lager and a port and lemon.
The jackpot winners, who hit the headlines in October 1998 when they scooped £1.4 million, said they will be having a low-key gathering with close friends.
The Storeys, who swapped their modest terrace house in Saltaire for a large detached home in leafy Nab Wood, said their windfall has not changed them - and never will.
"Just because we've won the lottery doesn't mean we'll be splashing out on hundreds of bottles of champagne at some posh restaurant," said Margaret.
"We're essentially the same people and still like the same things.
"I still eat beans on toast and our tastes haven't changed just because we've got this money."
The couple will be going for a pub lunch and will spend the evening enjoying a small buffet with their best friends.
And on New Year's Day they will be marking David's 53rd birthday with a meal.
Margaret said she could not say what she would be getting her husband - a former plumber's mate - for fear of ruining the surprise.
"Let's just say it's not over the top," said Margaret, 49, a former Buttershaw Comprehensive school pupil. She gave up her job as a craft instructor at Shipley Resource Centre and now has no time to work.
"We spend all our time meeting friends and basically enjoying life," she said.
"We've had a quiet Christmas and we're looking forward to spending New Year's Eve with our good friends - as we've always done."
Margaret's best friend, Janet Flack, 43, with whom she worked at a centre for adults with learning disabilities in Lytham St Anne's, near Blackpool, was visiting the couple over the festive season.
"Margaret hasn't changed a bit since we first met 25 years ago," said Janet, of Chorley, Lancashire.
"Obviously she doesn't have to worry about money as she did in the past but she's still the same person and has always been generous with her money - even when she hardly had any."
Margaret and David married in December 1998 and stuck to their initial arrangements which were planned before the win.
Their only extravagance was an exotic honeymoon in Barbados with relatives and the pair also ditched their jobs.
Margaret and David, who continue to take a chance on the lottery every week, are now planning a Cyprus holiday for 2003.
