Community groups in Kirklees are being offered grants to organise events for International Women's Day.
Up to £250 is available for groups and voluntary organisations who set up events as part of the festival which runs from March 1 until March 16.
The theme will be anti-poverty with the slogan "bread and roses" - which was adopted by American women in the 1930s who were on strike for better pay.
Anyone interested can get a grants-application pack from Valerie Wartelle, Internat-ional Women's Day Festival Co-ordinator, at Community Support Services, 1st Floor, Civic Centre 1, Huddersfield HD1 2NF. The deadline is Monday, January 13.
There will be free, drop-in workshop sessions to help people with their applications on Wednesday, January 8, at Huddersfield Town Hall between noon and 2.30pm and on Thursday, January 9, at Dewsbury Town Hall between 11am and 1pm.
