Sisterly love was in the air when four siblings met up for the first time in 27 years.

The women, pictured here, whose maiden name was Langdale, have been unable to get themselves in the same place at the same time since the eldest, Joan Blakesley, 81, moved to Australia almost 30 years ago.

But now they have been reunited in time for the youngest sister to get remarried - at the age of 66.

Judy Unsworth will be marrying Donald Gillbanks, 73, a week today.

And in a strange twist of fate, the best man will be Judy's brother-in-law Charles Hammond - the best man 50 years ago when Donald married his first wife, Audrey, who died three years ago.

Charles said: "I have been gathering together anecdotes, but I am waiting for the next 50 years to pass and then we will have some stories to tell!"

Between the sisters - whose parents were John and Winifred Langdale, of Heaton - they have 11 children, 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The sisters also had a brother, Keith, who died, at the age of 76, last year.

And Joan's daughter, Gillian Harrison, who in 1958 was the bridesmaid at Judy's first wedding to her husband, Peter, who died, is also visiting from Australia for the big day.

The other sisters, Betty Hammond, 79, and husband Charles, 83, and Mary Denison, 71, and husband Roland, all live in Wilsden and meet up regularly.

And since both the bridegroom, who lives in Bingley, and Roland sing with Steeton Male Voice Choir, the chorus will be performing at the wedding.

Members of the Women's Institute, which Judy has been a member of for years, will also be attending as will her two sons who currently live in Australia and two daughters who both live in Bradford.

Judy, who first met Donald when they were both schoolchildren, said: "It is going to be a full church - it's frightening me to death. We even have family coming up from the south coast."

The wedding will take place at Bingley Parish Church and will be followed by a small afternoon reception and larger evening reception at West Bradford Golf Club.
