Cottingley Bar, where there was a recent fatal accident, is not to have traffic lights but will get new carriageway markings. Bingley Road Safety Committee decided at a meeting that this would do nothing to stop accidents and it would continue to press for traffic lights. Mr C.B.L. Ford, county road safety officer, Bradford, said there had been ten accidents at the junction in the past four years, including three in 1977. One was fatal.

Visiting arrangements at hospitals under the Bradford "A" Group Hospitals Management Committee are to be improved from January 12. Mr H. Trusson, secretary of the committee, told a Telegraph & Argus reporter that the committee thought there was a need for daily visitation. Previously relatives have been allowed to visit the hospitals on only two or three occasions each week.
