DARTS star Gary Thompson staged a thrilling comeback to win the final of the Bradford & District Open competition.
Gary, who plays in the Keighley Super League team and is also a member of the Yorkshire County team, faced the best in the district in the competition which was held at the Drop Kick pub in Bradford.
In the opening game of the day he beat his Super League team mate Pete Reebanks from Earby 4-1, but faced a tougher task in the second round when he came up against former Yorkshire player Lee Delderfield of Bradford, but Thompson battled his way to a 4-3 victory.
In the semi-final he strolled to a 5-2 victory over Paul Dignham from Bradford which set up the final against former County player Dave Smith, who was fresh from an appearance in the Ladbrokes.com World Championship. The Leeds player took a 5-3 advantage before 'Tommo' stormed to a 6-5 victory.
Gary plays his club darts with the Star (Keighley) in the Wednesday night Keighley League and represents the Kings Arms, Sutton, in the Aire Valley League.
