BARNOLDSWICK United and Silsden, Craven's challengers in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup, had mixed fortunes in the draw for the quarter-finals to be played on Saturday, February 1.
Holders Silsden have been drawn away to the winners of tomorrow's postponed tie between Wibsey and Storthes Hall, whose name appears on the trophy more often than most in recent seasons.
Lady Luck has favoured the Barnoldswick side, however, for they will have home advantage against the winners of the delayed tie between Baildon Trinity Athletic and Lower Hopton, which also goes ahead tomorrow weather permitting.
The draw has also brought together two of the more fancied sides, with Horsforth St Margarets entertaining Whitkirk Wanderers, while in the other pairing, the winners of the postponed Thorne Colliery/Tyersal tie will visit Littletown.
In the last eight of the Sunday Trophy, Silsden will have home advantage against the winners of Shipley Town/Rawdon if they can overcome AFC Fleece in their postponed match, while Keighley Athletic have the incentive of a home pairing with the winners of Buttershaw White Star/Queensbridge if they can beat Claro Beagle.
In the Under 14 Junior Trophy, Silsden Juniors will be at home to the winners of the Garforth Rangers/Thornes match if they can get a win at Bingley, while Embsay Wolves will be at home to either Seacroft WMC Colts or Thorpe United in the quarter-finals of the Under 12 Junior Shield if they can get the better of Stanningley Albion away on Sunday.
o FOLLOWING a disappointing home defeat by Wakefield FA last month, the Craven Minors Under 17 team play their next game on Sunday when they take on the Harrogate & District FA at Boroughbridge (1.30).
Manager Mel Exley has announced basically the same squad, which she is confident will progress to the semi-finals of this season's West Riding County FA Minor Cup competition after two previous victories against Castleford and Halifax.
The squad for Sunday is:
Ben Osmond, Bevan Boland, Mark Ashton and Jack Singleton (all Skipton Town), Alan Pickles, Damon Clark, Michael Green and James Oldroyd (Barnoldswick Park Rovers), Gavin Garbutt and Jamie Waddle (Earby Town), Liam Preston (Hellifield Sports), Brendan Threlfall (Grassington United), Joseph Morton (Settle United), James Rusius and Daniel Pickup (Barnoldswick United), Ben Greenwood and Darrell McDonald (Kelbrook), and Oliver Hurst (Gargrave).
