FA Sunday Cup: Never having had two clubs at the fourth-round stage in the same season before, the Bradford Sunday Alliance League hope to go one better this weekend with Albion Sports and Fairweather Green both aiming for quarter-final spots in the FA Sunday Cup.
Following two wins on Merseyside, Greg Watts' goal got Fairweather Green through the third round against Redcar WMC at Thackley and they return to the venue to meet a Liverpool side well known to Bradford clubs over the years.
Having encountered Oakenshaw and Albion in previous seasons, A3 knocked out league champions East Bowling in the last round.
Fairweather will be up for it tomorrow and providing some of their younger players settle early, a passage into the last eight isn't impossible.
Albion Sports seem to have been playing cup matches for weeks. They break new ground this week at Horsfall (2.30pm) when they have visitors from Northampton in the shape of St Margaret's. The visitors have only conceded a couple of goals so far this season.
Albion reached the semi-final last season and their experience could be vital. With the likes of Gary Shaw, Stefan Zoll, Taj Singh and youngster Aron Heywood to worry the visitors' defence, they can reach the last eight stage for the fourth time running.
The postponed County Cup match between Queen's Athletic and Fforde Greene is rescheduled for tomorrow (11am).
