Three doormen who admitted assaulting a clubber have each been ordered to do community service work.

Bradford Crown Court heard how 23-year-old Christopher Carr had been out with a friend who was ejected from the Queens Hall club in the early hours.

Prosecutor Adrian Robinson said Mr Carr accepted he was annoyed about his friend getting thrown out and he became involved in a dispute with the doormen outside the premises.

During the disturbance in March last year Mr Carr was punched in the face by 35-year-old John Baker and butted by his colleague Ian Ashburne, 25. Mr Robinson said a third doorman, 24-year-old David Grams, also went up to Mr Carr and punched him.

Mr Carr suffered a swollen nose, black eyes, a cut lip, grazing to his back and a swollen wrist.

Grams, of Ewart Street, Bradford, and Baker, of Levet Road, Doncaster, were both ordered to do 100 hours community service and pay £150 costs. Ashburne, of Spring Street, Bradford, was told he would have to do 140 hours community service work and pay the same amount of costs because he had butted the victim.
