Customers at pubs throughout the North can help the Telegraph & Argus Bradford Can... Cancer Research Appeal - thanks to 11 cheeky Bradford barmen.

The staff at the Ancient Foresters in High Street, Wibsey, stripped off for 12 pictures which appear on a poster calendar on sale in aid of the appeal.

The posters feature the men flaunting their physiques while at work in the pub, along with comedy captions.

Assistant manager Chris Leonards said: "We decided to do the calendar because we thought it would be fun and we picked the charity we thought was the most deserving - that's the Bradford Can...Appeal."

About 100 of the poster calendars, which cost £3 each, have been sold already but Mr Leonard and the pub's manager Mark Thomas - pictured with the poster - are eager to boost the appeal by selling even more.

And The Laurel Pub Company, which owns the Ancient Foresters, has allowed the posters to be sold in other pubs in the chain from Lincoln to Middlesbrough.

The Bradford Can... Appeal has raised £900,000 towards cancer research at Bradford Royal Infirmary and the Cancer Research Unit at Bradford University.

Once the target of £1 million is met, another £5 million will be injected into the work by Cancer Research UK.

Copies of the calendar poster are available from the pub in High Street, which can be contacted on (01274) 670345.
