Conference chief executive John Moules today told Bradford Park Avenue that with "hard work and hard cash" they could make it back into the Football League.
The official visited Horsfall Stadium to look around the ground and give the club advice on how to bring it up to the required standard.
A comprehensive report will be sent within two weeks detailing what the UniBond side need to do to improve the council-owned venue.
He also indicated that the club would be accepted into the new Conference second division if plans to reorganise the Football League feeder division go ahead.
And Avenue officials were pleased with the meeting and the official's recognition of the club's ambition.
"It was a positive and encouraging meeting," said chief executive Phil Lawler after the meeting.
"We will await the report and see what they have to say but we are pleased with the initial reaction to our plans.
"We now need to arrange meetings with residents and the council as soon as possible to look at the way forward.
"A partnership with the council on this is the way forward as we look to fulfil our ambition of moving into Conference football and beyond for the good of the club and the community as a whole."
