Lewis Emanuel could be out for the next month after becoming the latest Bantams casualty.

The teenager pulled his hamstring during a training session at Apperley Bridge yesterday.

It is yet another blow for boss Nicky Law ahead of the weekend's critical relegation clash with Grimsby.

Law admitted: "I just can't believe our luck with injuries. It is one thing after another all the time and it has been like that all season.

"It looks like a grade-one tear which means he will be missing for about three weeks or so."

Local lad Emanuel, 19, has established himself as a first-teamer at left back or left midfield, starting the last nine matches. His absence means that Wayne Jacobs is the only left-footed player available.

There has been no news on Jamie Lawrence's possible exit. But Andy Tod was hoping to impress potential Scottish buyers in a friendly last night.

Tod was back at Dunfermline for a testimonial for former Pars team-mate Stewart Petrie.

Paul Evans, out of favour with Law, is glad to be playing football again - even if it has meant dropping down a division.

The Welsh midfielder tonight makes the second appearance of his Blackpool loan at Swindon.

Evans is just relieved to be involved after losing his place in the City side.

He said: "It makes such a difference to be involved with the first team. When you are training all week and not getting a game it's a case of having to grin and bear it.

"But to be out there on the pitch is what it's all about. I wasn't getting the chance to do that on a Saturday so when the gaffer let me go along to Blackpool I was happy to take it.

"I'm here for a month and don't know what will happen after that. Steve McMahon gives you a lot of confidence and Blackpool try to play football the right way and hopefully I can get in five or six games."

Evans last started for City in the 5-0 home drubbing to Sheffield United on November 23. He appeared as a late substitute at Watford last month.

But the former Brentford skipper, signed last summer, has struggled to make an impression.

Law said: "Blackpool asked about him a couple of weeks ago. Whether he is there longer than a month will be down to them and the player."

Evans, capped twice by Wales, fears his international prospects will be harmed if he is stuck in the reserves.

He added: "I haven't spoken to anyone about it but obviously I need to be playing first-team football.

"It was great to be part of it against Northampton on Saturday, especially as we won. It was my first 90 minutes for a couple of months but I felt fine."
