Youngsters at St Andrew's Primary School are celebrating after their school was presented with a smart new set of wheels. The school, in Lustre Street, Keighley, has been given a brand new £29,000 minibus by the Variety Club of Great Britain.
The keys to the 16-seater Sunshine Coach were presented to members of staff by Emmerdale star Patrick Mower at a ceremony in Harrogate. Learning mentor Janet Woodhead said: "We made our case for a minibus to the Variety Club in May, and were delighted when we were told the bid had been successful.
"We have hopes to use it for different things, like our Friday club and taking children on day trips and possibly overnight trips.
"When we travelled to sporting events before we had to take the children in cars, so this will be much better because it will allow us to arrive as a team."
Assistant head teacher Sue Quartermain added: "We have gone for a long wheel base minibus with wheelchair access because we have some disabled children at the school. A lot of the credit must go to Janet for all the hard work she has put into this."
Cash for the vehicle was raised by the Impact Group of Wholesalers and the Variety Club's golfing society. They held various fundraising events, such as a charity walk across the three highest national peaks.
The school is now looking to build a garage on the school site and is asking for help and sponsorship from people and businesses. Anyone who can help the school should contact head teacher Christine Clark on 01535 604656.
