Keighley youngsters have helped a community transport group to shine.
A group of young people from the Lund Park Youth Development Network volunteered to spruce up minibuses belonging to Keighley Community Transport.
The community-spirited teenagers spent an afternoon adding some spit and polish to the fleet of vehicles at the community transport base in Holycroft Street.
Transport organiser Stephen Shorten said: "They were a decent bunch of lads who turned up and did a good job of cleaning the minibus interiors.
"We usually have a couple of lads who volunteer to clean the vehicles at the weekend, but they usually just have the time to wash the outsides, so this has been a real help to us."
The organisation has been subjected to vandalism and arson attacks by groups of youths in recent years.
The aim of the new group - formed in November - is to show that young people in the area are interested in doing positive work in the community.
The clean-up was co-ordinated by Minority Community Liaison Co-ordinators Firdous Bano and Nadia Hussain, who are part of a police community action team.
Community Safety Officer Sgt Allan Gee says: "The team has gone into the Knowle Park area and made contact with a group of Asian teenagers after complaints about anti social behaviour.
"The lads have been keen to dispel the negative attitudes that have been displayed concerning the local community, particularly the local youths.
"Keighley Community Transport has been targeted in relation to vandalism and arson, so it was a good place for the boys to start getting involved in community based activities.
"Hopefully this is just the start because the group is keen, under the guidance of the community liaison co-ordinators, to do more voluntary work."
