Brave Malcolm Guy is still smiling after taking on the formidable Anne Robinson on TV show The Weakest Link.

The financial advisor from Bradley was more troubled by going out in the third round than by anything the sharp-tongued presenter could throw at him.

"She's a bit of a pussy cat really," he said. "Of course, I knew they'd edit that comment straight out, and they did!"

Malcolm did manage to get away with saying Anne reminded him of his last girlfriend.

He explained: "She was a redhead with glasses and a similar frame so I'd describe Anne as formidable but familiar," before adding that he was now single!

The show went out on Monday, and Malcolm claims it is not as high-pressure as it looks on the screen.

"The show took over two hours to film and Anne goes off between each round to review your biography. I'd always assumed what she says was prompted, but she makes it all up on the spot. I was very impressed by her and her great sense of humour," he said.

The source of sarcasm in Malcolm's case was his job. "Are you as boring as the other financial advisors I've come across?" demanded Anne, who confirmed her suspicions on finding that Malcolm was also a keen golfer.

He added: "We actually had quite a long, jokey chat but it got edited so I came across as boring as possible!"

It was a question about Harrods owner Mohammed al Fayad that got him voted off. To make matters worse, he had to do the walk of shame twice to get it right on camera.

Despite having the words "You are a financial disaster, goodbye" thrown at him, Malcolm has not been put off appearing on TV quiz shows.

"I've applied for Jet Set now", he said, "I could quite fancy all that flying around!"
