Oakbank runner Sam Clegg was crowned Bradford Schools cross country champion last weekend -- and has also been selected for Yorkshire.
Sam (above), a sixth form pupil at Oakbank School, won the senior boys race at the Bradford Schools Championship which was held in Northcliffe Park, Shipley, and led 12 fellow students who have qualified to represent Bradford in the West Yorkshire Championships at Leeds on February 1.
Oakbank results - Year 7 boys (1 miles) 9 Tom Briddle, 10 George Edmondson, 16 David Bullivant, 17 Joe Park, 19 Chris Cox, 28 Adam Dobson. Oakbank team took third place.
Junior Boys (2.6 miles) 4 Nicholas Twigg, 6 Casey Dickinson, 23 Oliver Haughey, 24 Michael Moore, 29 Robbie Gibson, 30 Darryl Booth. Oakbank tied for second place with Ilkley in the team event.
Year 7 girls (1.2 miles) 4 Louise Gabrielle, 9 Eleanor Moore.
Junior girls (1.6 miles) 23 Naomi Thornton, 24 Charlotte Driver, 29 Kelly Heaps, 34 Eleanor Greenham. Oakbank team were fifth.
Intermediate Boys (3.5 miles) 4 Richard Stack, 7 Tom Lonsdale, 11 Tom Wallbank, 14 Ryan Ettenfield. Oakbank team second.
Intermediate Girls (1 miles) 5 Emma Hurtley, 7 Cathy Frobisher, Kayleigh Barnes.
Senior Girls (2 miles) 3 Laura Greenham, 4 Kayleigh Greenham, 5 Nicola Leng.
Senior boys (4 miles) 1 Sam Clegg.
