WHAT a great way to start the season -- the lads were just fantastic!
I must admit that after our encounters with Doncaster last season I struggled to hold back a little grin in the bar after we had clocked up Sunday's win.
There were one or two ex-Cougar players, now wearing the Dragons' tracksuits, who were standing around looking a little disgruntled.
Only a few months ago money did the talking (I wonder what Donny losing pay is?) ...
IF anybody has heard a rumour that Bradford Bulls and Great Britain front rower Stuart Fielden has been seen down at Cougar Park -- it's true.
Don't get carried away we haven't been going crazy with club's cheque book, the big guy is the best mate of our own Danny Ekis and enjoys coming along to cheer on his buddy.
I'm sure he was impressed on Sunday as Danny celebrated his 21st birthday with a powerhouse performance in the front row.
Happy birthday Danny lad.
THINGS have certainly changed since my early days as young Keighley player. In those days the dressing room used to smell of sweat, olive oil and Fiery Jack rubbing linament - now it's more like a beauty salon.
There's Rammy's sun tan, Simoen's bleached locks and Matty Firth's toiletry bag full of lotions and potions, how times have changed.
IT WAS grrrreat to see such a good crowd at Cougar Park last weekend and several players commented on how much the fans gave them a lift during the game.
The good old Cougar Roar, which has been a little quiet in recent seasons, even made a comeback as we fought it out in the second half.
A big thanks from everyone for turning out on what looked like being a terrible afternoon.
Just before kick-off there was a huge rainbow over the bottom end of the ground which I'm sure is a sign of good times to come.
Let's hope that the really big crowds return and we can put a smile back on the face of the whole town.
