The Bulls go head to head with Warrington for the fourth time in five years as they begin their 2003 search for silverware.

Bradford were handed the competitive tie they were looking for in the Challenge Cup fourth round, drawing the Wolves in one of three all Super League ties.

The game is set to be screened live on Grandstand on Saturday, February 8.

And assistant coach Phil Veivers was pleased with the opponents for the Bulls' first competitive run-out of the season.

"I'm happy with that," said Veivers, after last night's draw at the George Hotel, Huddersfield.

"We said we wanted a competitive fixture and we certainly got that.

"Playing Warrington at Warrington will not be an easy fixture. It is a tough place to go, it always has been, but I think we have a pretty good record against them."

Although the Wolves are somewhat of a bogey team for the Bulls in Super League, they have always proved good opponents in the cup.

Warrington were beaten 44-20 in a Headingley semi-final when the Bulls last won the Challenge Cup in 2000 and the Bulls beat them again in the 2001 semi-final before going on to lose St Helens at Twickenham. In 1999 they beat them 52-16 in the quarter-finals.

"The players got together yesterday and discussed the sort of draw they wanted," said Veivers, whose former club St Helens face a

tricky tie away at French side Union Treiziste Catalan.

"The guys said they wanted a competitive game, although we were thinking more like Leigh or one of the other top National Division sides.

"But we avoided a big tie, which is what we wanted at this stage of the season.

"It will be a really competitive game at their place but overall we are happy with that and the guys are looking forward to getting out there and getting on with it."

The Bulls have a habit of drawing Super League sides in the early rounds of the cup, the last time they didn't was back in 1999 when Workington were tonked 92-0.

Giant prop Paul Anderson is likely to return for the trip to Wilderspool although Michael Withers and Tevita Vaikona will remain on the sidelines as they continue to recover from off-season operations.

Veteran Mike Forshaw, who was struck down by a bug while at the warm-weather training camp in Portugal, has resumed training and is expected to feature for the Bulls.

Amateur outfit Halton Simms Cross, who defeated London Skolars in the last round, got their dream tie when they were pulled out of the bag for a trip to holders Wigan Warriors.

Wath Brow, who defeated local rivals Workington with a last-minute drop goal last weekend, entertain Batley Bulldogs while Keighley Cougars face a trip to Sheffield Eagles.
